ISM Waste Recycling
Nomination for Building & Structures
Since this award ISM have continued to grow as more and more Waste Producers look to them for sustainable recycling solutions, and as part of its business expansion plans ISM realised that it would need more office space. In February of this year with the assistance of Groundwork Bury and The Business Investment Programme they commenced development on their new £250,000 Transport Recycling Weighbridge Office, the new facility plays an important role in the day to day operation of the business and is the hub where all transport operations are co-ordinated and waste input / output and waste recycling is recorded. The building hosts a number of hi-tech features such as automatic number plate recognition, large multi screen vehicle tracking, chip and pin fuel management along with remote weighbridge, CCTV, and data recording functions.
The new building was constructed with a high thermal retention value, and low energy usage ensuring the Company’s carbon footprint doesn’t grow as the Company expands. The construction project also brought about some significant on site environmental benefits as a result of the old fuel bund area having to be demolished and replaced with a new £50,000 purpose built fuel storage farm and fill points.
The visual and aesthetic improvements are just one of the many benefits brought about, not just to the surrounding area, but also to the Company itself, one only needs to take a look at the before and after photographs to appreciate the achievement made by the company this year.
